9 DAY TOUR ITINERARY

DAY ONE : Morning Star – Cederberg

We meet at O2O Tour headquarters situated in Morning Star just off the N7 Highway were we have a Safety Talk and cover South African Road rules and regulations, we will then pack and load our bikes and have a quick Briefing of the day ahead.

We depart from O2O Tour headquarters and take a slow easy ride out for everyone to familiarise themselves with their bikes.

The mornings ride will then head towards the Swartland Area and Piketburg Pass where we will stop for lunch.

After lunch we head to the beautiful Cederberg range cutting through the Nieuwardts Pass working our way to our first overnight stop a bikers favourite, the rustic Oasis.

DAY TWO : Cederberg – Sutherland

After a hearty breakfast & a briefing for the days adventures, we will hop onto our bikes & make our way out of the Cederburg with some beautiful passes to start the morning off.
Heading over Katbakkies we make our way down to the Karoo where we will stop for lunch at the well known Tankwa Padstal.
From here we make our way through the Karoo up the Rooikloof pass to Sutherland, which is known for it’s star gazing and has the biggest telescope in the Southern Hemisphere.
Evening Star gazing activity can be arranged.

 

DAY THREE : Sutherland – Oudtshoorn

Breakfast & briefing
As we come south out of Sutherland, we turn off and make our way past the Komsberg Nature Reserve and with some luck will be able to spot some game while heading down the Komsberg & Smoushoogt pass.
From here we head to Matjiesfontein, where the famous Lord Charles Hotel is situated.
We will stop for lunch at one of the quaint restaurants & you will be able to enjoy the sight and sounds of what Matjiesfontein has to offer.
From here we turn right in Lainsburg and head through the Klein Swartberg & Groot Swartberg mountain ranges, going through the amazing Seweweek Spoot Pass, which will take us through Calitzdorp into Oudtshoorn.

 

DAY FOUR : Rest Day

I am sure by now a well earned rest is needed.
Oudtshoorn offers plenty to do & see ranging from the famous Cango Caves to the Cango wildlife ranch where if you dare you can cage dive with crocodiles & interact with various wildlife.
The Ostrich farms are also one of Oudtshoorns main attractions.

 

DAY FIVE : Oudtshoorn – Price Albert

Brunch & briefing
We will work our way over the famous Swartberg Pass built by Thomas Baines.
Here we take our time to see the amazing countryside.

 

DAY SIX : Prince Albert – Knysna

Breakfast & briefing
From Pince Albert we head East towards DERUST passing through the Meeringspoort Pass and stopping at the waterfall & the small museum they have there to take in some history.
From here we will work our way to Uniondale & down the Prince Albert pass to Knysna.
We will stop for a light lunch at the bottom of the Prince Albert pass in the valley.
After lunch we will head through the forests to make our way to Knysna.

 

DAY SEVEN : Knysna – Garden Route Game Lodge

Breakfast & briefing
As we leave Knysna we will turn off onto the well know 7 passes which will take us out at the Wilderness where we will work our way along the coatline stopping for lunch as we head to the Garden Route Lodge.

 

DAY EIGHT : Garden route Game Lodge – Hermanus

Breakfast & briefing
Here we make our way to Malgas through the wheat and canola fields. We will cross the Breede River on a hand drawn phontoon heading to Hermanus.

DAY NINE : Hermanus – Morning Star

Breakfast & briefing
After a lazy morning taking in all Hermanus has to offer, we head out to the Hemel en Aarde Valley towards Botrivier for lunch.
From here we will travel to Franschoek, the last pass we will get to enjoy before heading back to HQ’s.
